One of the highlights in Term 1 is the swimming carnival at the TAS indoor swim centre; all students capable of swimming 25m are encouraged to enter a race (with Kinders able to use a kick board). Children who place first, second or third may then go on to PSSA (Primary Schools Sporting Association) and NCIS (North Coast Independent Schools) championships. Also in Term 1 is the Junior School Athletics Carnival. Held over two days, in conjunction with Minimbah Primary School, boys and girls participate in track, field and novelty events, with participation the name of the game.
During Activities Week in Term 4, students enjoy Bike Day. In the morning they complete an obstacle course and go for some long distance rides, before competing in a triathlon in the afternoon (Kindergarten and Year 1 in teams, and from Year 2, either teams or individually). We also encourage students with a passion and commitment for other sports, and boys and girls can gain exemption from programmed sport for the equivalent time devoted to these pursuits. Students in Years 3, 4 and 5 will normally attend two trainings per week (usually after school on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 3.45 to 4.45pm). Students in Year 2 and below will only attend one training per week, on Mondays.
